With So Much Experience, John Lasala Has Had a Lucrative NYC Career

After he received his law degree, John Lasalas, New York businessman and attorney, he went on to passing the bar exams in many jurisdictions between 1994 and 1995. At first, John Lasala worked with a couple high-powered law firms before going on to become a trading lawyer with Goldman Sachs. During his time at Goldman, John Lasala of New York structured derivatives on behalf of the Credit Risk Management & Advisory Group, and he provided counter-party risk thresholds for credit derivative businesses.

For a while at Goldman, he served as a credit risk manager. He dealt with all sorts of issues related to real estate securities and structured finance transactions. He also helped to tailor agreements to match the wants and needs of clients in their real estate investment portfolios. He also conducted credit threshold negotiations and he managed transactional teams in monitoring hedge fund counter-party exposures and he implemented credit enhancing solutions, including options, swaps, variable delivery forwards and pre-paid variable share forwards. At various times in his career in New York City (NYC), John also assisted rating agencies in dealing with the resolution of outstanding credit threshold and issues for credit default swaps, bond portfolios, interest rate products, credit derivatives, among other types of instruments.

Currently, John Lasala can be found dividing his time between New York and London, where he is a business development manager and a specialist in client marketing with Citi Alternative Investments, where, as the title suggests, he oversees business development, marketing, management and communications for an institutional investor base that consists of sovereign wealth funds, endowments, pensions, foundations, banks, and family offices. For all of them, he is able to guide them in most critical business functions.
